This weekend at the Homechoolers Of Maine Convention, was THE best weekend. Not only did I have a blast with my friends, learn more about homeschooling, gain more knowledge of God, and many, many other things, my awesome friends and family threw me a surprise 16th birthday party!

On Friday afternoon, Anna, Olivia, Colleen, and I went swimming in the swimming pool! It was absolutely fabulous. Around 4:30, Mom popped in for a few minutes to tell us it was almost supper time, aka, time to get out of the pool. We took a detour in the sauna and changed in the locker rooms that the Samoset had there, not knowing that my good friends were waiting upstairs in my family’s hotel room, we took our time.

Colleen and Olivia, finished changing before I did, surprisingly. I thought it was a little odd that they left me and Anna behind, but I didn’t think too much of it. Outside of the pool locker rooms was Mom, waiting for us. Mom told us it was time for supper, so we had better hurry up to the hotel room. Going through the lobby, we met up with Dad as well! Mom told Dad it was time for ’supper’. Dad hurriedly got up and, I think, he almost ran to catch up with us! Dad is usually not very hungry, especially not for the crockpot stuff we had cooking up in our room, and I though that was a little odd, but again, I didn’t think much about it!

Just before we arrived at the Clarke hotel room, Mom gave me the key. I opened the hotel room door just like I had the many other times that day. I had a hard time getting to sleep that night, because all that went through my head was “God is so good.” This verse kept on pushing its way into my thoughts:

I know that every person in that room that night is a friend. A friend that will help me up when I fall. What an amazing God we serve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
