My Wonderful Life

Sam Balam

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 8:26 am on Monday, April 27, 2009

On Tuesday Sam came over for a sleepover for two nights in a row. It was fun! On Tuesday afternoon we didn’t do much because it was raining. On Wednesday we raked Claire’s yard and played outside for awhile. On Thursday we finished raking Claire’s yard and then we went to softball practice. Coach wasn’t there but one of our team member’s dad was and he pitched the ball to us while one of us hit and the others fielded the ball. After awhile Jaime, Sam and I rode home.

When we got home, Billy was home! Abbey and Billy had been gone at Teenpact since Monday. Abbey was staying for the speaking class though which was the next day. Sam got to stay another night. :-) Shannon, Mom and Dad got home after awhile because they were at Shannon’s game. I don’t remember much of what we else we did. On Friday Shannon was gone almost all day at a softball game.

Sam and I went to the Ferris’ field for a picnic. :-) We packed a lunch and softball stuff. We ate our lunch, talked a bit and then we played a little pass with the softball. When we were done playing pass with the softball we did hand stands and other fun things. We ran across the field and rolled down the hill and got extremely dizzy and then we walked home. We cleaned the house and then we had the Anderson’s over to visit and for supper. Sam left soon after supper. :-( The Anderson’s left around 9pm.

First Time Ever

For the first time in my whole entire life I cried during the closing song in our church. I don’t know the name of it but it was beautiful.

On Sunday Ashleigh came to our church with us. :-) After church we cleaned the house a little then we all went outside. It was beautiful outside! We went to the Ferris’ field and played soccer and frisbee and we did some handstands and somersaults. :-) It was super fun! Everyone but Mom, Ashleigh and I left. We left soon after though. Shannon, Ashleigh and I played Imaginiff…. That was fun! Shannon won, then me, then Ashleigh.

Woman’s Conference

Saturday Mom, Abbey and I went to a Women’s Conference. It was really cool! There were three speakers. First we did an icebreaker game so we could to get to know each other.

When that was over we sang some worship songs together. Nancy Brown was the first speaker. She recommended good Christian books. After Nancy Brown spoke, Jaime (she was one of the lady’s in charge of everything) drew some names out of a basket for little prizes. After Jaime was done one of the singers at Fellowship Church, named Cyndy, came up and told us about her life and then sang a beautiful song. When Cyndy was done Jaime picked some names out of a basket again for prizes. Jaime was a speaker after. When Jaime was done her speech we prayed and then we had lunch downstairs. I had egg salad and whoopie pies.

After Lunch Mrs. Saldana danced to a song. Both and the dance and the song were very pretty. I noticed alot of the dance was sign language! It was awesome!

When Mrs. Saldana was done Susan Brackley came up and spoke. After she was done her speech Libby and Mary went up and sang.
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! Great job!

After they were done singing some of the lady’s did a skit. It was called “What not to Wear”. :-) It was funny! Shonah sang after the skit. Shonah has an AMAZING gift of singing! Everyone who sang last Saturday were amazing! I had goose bumps through each song. After that we prayed and everyone left.

Warm Weather!

Yesterday I had softball practice. It was fun! We did sliding drills and a crow hop drill and then we some scrimmaging. It was soo hot out though! It wasn’t that hot but it was hot for April. :-)

Today it is really nice and tomorrow it is going to be really nice again! :-) It is going to be in about 60 degrees! :-D

Yahtzee!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 8:58 am on Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Today I have softball practice again! :-) Dad is going to buy me a sliding pad today so I can slide without get all scraped up.

Yesterday we had Marshall Care Group. We talked about Genesis mostly. Then we closed in prayer. We had brownie cupcakes and candy from the Marshall’s Easter. When we were done, we played Yahtzee. Us Clarkes didn’t really know how to play, so Mary, Ryan and Sandra taught us how to play. Shonah and Stephanie weren’t at the Marshall Care Group that night. :-( We didn’t get to finish Yahtzee, but we’ll try to finish the game sometime.

Lachance Visit

On Saturday Billy and I went to the Lachance’s house in Augusta. It was so much fun!!! When we got there Mom and Mrs. Lachance talked for awhile and Abbey got to stay and visit for a little bit. Evan, Billy, Abbey, Olivia and I all had pizza and went upstairs and held Evan’s hamster Blondie. :-) We went and met their cats and then we went into Olivia’s room, we talked for awhile. Then Abbey and Mom left. We went downstairs into their cellar and goofed around a little. :-) We went outside into their woods. Oh! What a blast!

We headed to a little stream in a huge tunnel and on our way we got stuck in prickly bushes, and got very muddy. :-) When we got to the tunnel we splashed each other a little then we started walking back but we found a tiny pond. We got quite dirty getting to it. We skipped rocks and then went to the ‘car pond’. :-) This was the coolest part! We got a bit muddy on our way but it was fun! The ‘car pond’ has a red car in it. It no longer works and it is caked with mud but it is cool to sit on and stuff. :-) When we walked home we got more muddy of course. When got back to Evan and Olivia’s house we took our muddy shoes off and rolled up our muddy pants. we washed our hands off and went upstairs. Billy didn’t get too muddy so he didn’t change. But Evan, Olivia and I did change. I borrowed a pair of Olivia’s pants, jacket, socks and sneakers. Thanks Olivia! When we got back downstairs Evan and Billy asked if we wanted pancakes. We did want pancakes, so Evan poured the batter in the pan and I flipped them with a flipper. When were done we talked in the living room for awhile and then we went outside and played pass with a baseball and softball. We played tag and also did some handstands and other fun things. We had to go home after that.

Thank you Lachance family for such a fun blast!

Practicing Outdoors!

Yay! Today is Friday! Tonight I have a pitcher/catcher practice! I’m going to try out to pitch. Kara and Katie are our catchers. Michelle is our pitcher but Kelsey, Jaime, Sydney and I are going to try pitching. There may be more but that’s all I know of. Shannon and some of her team is coming down after our practice to teach the seventh graders about catching and pitching. Shannon is catcher this year, so, she and a pitcher are coming down from Leavitt Area High School after our practice.

New Windshield

Today I have no softball practice. :-( Instead, I am going to do some things for homeschool co-op. I decorated a poster board for the skit I am going to be in. I also wrote the skit (which we already had drafted). I wanted to write it for the two moms that are helping us kids. Our co-op is split into a couple of groups, and each one has a country that we learned about, and we have to perform a skit about it.

Today we got a new windshield for the Mazda. The old windshield had a crack almost across the whole thing. Now we have a nice uncracked windshield. :-)

Sliding!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 9:41 am on Monday, April 13, 2009

Yesterday, for softball practice, we practiced sliding! We slid on the hardwood floor but we wore either sliding pads or sweatpants. We also did diving. That was pretty cool, too! But I got a little mark from the floor on my left hip when I was diving.

Our sliding drill was that we have first, second, third, home plate and the pitcher’s mound. Every player except two players would get inline behind the pitcher’s mound. The other two players would pretend to play catcher and batter. The first girl in line (at the pitchers mound) would pretend to pitch and the batter would pretend to hit the ball and then sprint to first base. The catcher would stand up and be the batter and the 1st pitcher would go and pretend to catch. The 2nd pitcher would pitch to the new batter and the batter would hit the ball and run to first. The runner on 1st would run and slide into second. Then 2nd catcher would bat and the 2nd pitcher would catch and when the 3rd pitcher would pitch to the new batter would pretend to hit it, and then the runner on second would run half way to third pause, look at the pitcher, then finish running to third. The runner on first would slide into second and then the batter would run to first. The pitcher would pretend to pitch, the batter hits the pretend ball, the batter runs to first, the runner on first runs and slides to second, the runner on second would run, pause, continue running, and then the runner on third would run half way to home then turn around and dive into third, and then that person would get back inline behind the pitchers mound. It was really fun!

After that drill we did lots of sprinting, jogging, high knees, sprinting backwards, jogging backwards, sprinting forward but look backwards.

Getting in Shape for Softball

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 8:33 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2009

Yesterday at softball practice we started batting practice. There are three steps to batting: step and pull, pivot, and push, all in that order. It’s pretty fun! Today I have another softball practice!

Since Monday I started to exercise and jog everyday. I’m trying to jog farther and farther everyday. A few months ago Mom got a thing in the mail that had eight different exercising steps. I’m using them after my jogs. Some are very hard, but some are pretty easy.
