My Wonderful Life

Going to Portland

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 6:15 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Today I am going to Portland with Ellayna. She is getting new glasses, and while she is in Portland, she might as well stop by the Maine mall. So she invited me. Around 11:30 AM, Mrs. Fowler is going to pick me up. Ellayna doesn’t have school all week, so that’s why I’m being picked up so early. Our family is still doing school, because we already had about two weeks off while we were helping out with Dad’s campaign.

The All Night Concert Was VERY Tiring!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Last Friday was Mom’s birthday! Mom, Dad, Shannon, Abbey, Tim and Angie went out to Pizza Hut while Billy and I went to Sam’s house so Sam’s mom, Theresa, could take us to the ALIVE concert. Ellayna was already there and we were waiting for Sierra. When Sierra arrived, we left to go to the church.

Since Theresa was a volunteer, we arrived at the church early. We had to wait outside, but then Theresa let us come in, if we stayed in a certain spot, because it was cold outside. We got to see a band practice until they opened the doors. We got front row seats! Rebekah, Danae, Halie, and Sam from youth group were there too! India was also there! Ellayna and I were right in front of the stage during the concert. We got high fives from some of the band players while they were on stage! Halfway through the second band, Ellayna and I went and got our posters signed. Our heads hurt from the loudness and we could still hear them clearly through the other room that we were in. After we got everyone to sign our posters, we walked around. We saw Sam from youth group very often! I think his head hurt, too. :-) We went in the stage room thing to listen to Seventh Day Slumber for a little bit, and then went back out and waited to get our Seventh Day Slumber stickers signed.

After we got our stickers signed, we left to go to the Lewiston place where there was a gym, rock climbing, guitar hero, pool, air hockey, gaga ball, and foozball. It was fun! But I was not very hyper, because we didn’t get food until 1AM. Ellayna, Taylor, Billy and Garret did sumo wrestling! It was HILARIOUS!!! They had suits on that blew up nice and big. They looked like over-sized raisins! Theresa and I just laughed our heads off! I tried taking pictures without moving too much! After that Ellayna and I rock climbed. I beat her both times up and down. There were easy buttons on the top! :-)

Around 3 in the morning, we started the games that earned your team points. We were team 3. Our team did very well and we came in second place out of 8 teams! There were about 200 teenagers! We had bracelets on to show that we could be there. On our bracelets we had numbers. Billy’s number was called out and he won a paintball gun!!! All of his friends were quite jealous of him.

We went home soon after that. We got to have donuts for breakfast. Yum! But Billy and I went to bed right when we got home! Abbey, Shannon, Mom and Dad had just woken up! Later that day I woke up at 2:30pm and Billy woke up at 4pm. Ellayna, Sam, and Richard slept over to go to church with us. Tifani was going to spend the night but her stomach hurt so she went home for the night. But she still came to church! :-) After church we played until everyone left, which was around 4pm. :-( Thank you all for coming to visit! It was a great pleasure!

ALIVE Concert

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 11:46 am on Thursday, November 20, 2008

Tomorrow we have homeschool co-op! Around seven we’re going to a concert with Sam, Ellayna, Sierra and maybe Garret and Evan. It’s called ALIVE. There is a concert for the first two hours, but then it’s an all-nighter thing. The band giving the concert is Seventh Day Slumber.

Tomorrow is Mom’s birthday! Happy Birthday, Mom!

Get Smart!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 9:57 am on Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Last night we watched an awesome movie called Get Smart. It has now become one of my favorite movies! It was very, very funny! I totally recommend that you watch it! It’s worth buying!

Here are some funny quotes from the movie. The ones below are my most favorite!

Kid in Minivan: (sees Max dangling outside the window) Mom! Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom!
Mom in Minivan: Sean, Sean, Sean, Sean, Sean! You see how annoying that is?

Maxwell Smart: [Maxwell and Agent 99 swing towards a window but they hit the wall] Missed it by that much!

Dalip: Bomb didn’t go off.
Siegfried: Oh really bright eyes, what alerted you? Was it not boom-boom or the lack of a mushroom cloud?
Shtarker: It was the mushroom cloud for me.

Agent 23: It’s not over Max, I’ll take that briefcase.
Maxwell Smart: If you want it, you’ll have to take it.
Agent 23: [pause] That’s what I just said!
Maxwell Smart: I know, I’m just trying to annoy you!

Maxwell Smart: The old “Call Forwarding From the Shoe phone to the Cell phone so you don’t know Where I am and then I appear on the Roof behind you and Surprise everyone” trick.
Agent 23: [points a gun to Max’s temple] Don’t move.

Maxwell Smart: [given a blanket] Oh good, the itchy kind, my favorite, does this one also have small pox? And that was a human tooth…

Maxwell Smart: This is it?
Siegfried: Of course not, I lied.
Shtarker: He does that.

Siegfried: Why does he do that?
Shtarker: Don’t look at me, I’m no one.
Siegfried: And don’t you forget it, everyone here can be replaced.
[to Dalip]
Siegfried: I even have backup for you, it’s called a rhinoceros.

Siegfried: 200 billion dollars by 3pm.
The Chief: 200 billion dollars by 3pm?
Siegfried: You seem a bit slow, is there someone else I can talk to?
Shtarker: Good one.

The movie was just hilarious!!!

Some Snow!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 10:17 am on Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Yesterday afternoon it snowed, but the snow melted once it touched the ground. But the cool thing is that it actually snowed! When it was dark out I went to go take Doug outside and it was snowing again! That time it stayed until this morning!

Today we got all of Dad’s signs inside the shed. Ugh! My hands and nose froze! But what I really dislike is when your fingers are thawing out and they thaw so fast that they get really hot and itchy. They also get a little swollen and hard to move.

A Totally Fun Weekend!

On Friday we left after lunch to go to Wells to visit the McIntyre’s. We got there around 2:30PM. Our parents talked for a bit, and then Mom and Dad left. We talked in Kristyn’s room until we had to leave to go horseback riding! That was fun! We each got to take a lesson! Billy, Abbey and I were taking beginner lessons and Shannon, Jessica and Kristyn were taking more advanced lessons.

For supper we had chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and gravy. YUMMY! It was delicious! After supper we talked and talked and talked until around midnight then we went to bed. Shannon, Kristyn and Abbey stayed up talking for a while. Jessica and I went straight to bed and fell asleep.

Jessica and I woke up around 8:30AM and watched TV with the younger kids until like 11AM when we had breakfast! Abbey and Shannon slept in REALLY late! Breakfast was pancakes, toast, scrambled eggs, and orange juice! It was a very yummy breakfast! After breakfast we played Apples to Apples and Imaginiff. I don’t remember much else that we did besides going to a concert. The concert was The Wrecking and Bobby Bishop! It was a blast! I had a fun time! I got some pictures, too.

This is Bobby Bishop!

Bobby Bishop!

This is The Wrecking!

The Wrecking again!

This was the end of a song and they were hitting the drums REALLY hard! They broke pretty much all of their drum sticks!

Mr. McIntyre was really nice and bought Jessica and I a poster of The Wrecking and we got them to sign it! Bobby Bishop signed it, too. After the concert, we had snacks on the way back. YUM!

We went to bed around midnight again. Jessica and I woke up at eight. I took a shower for church and we had bagels for breakfast. Around 10AM people started to show up for church.  It was actually one family that showed up. We studied about Jacob and Esau and sang very pretty songs.

For lunch the Leifheits came!!! YAY! I was SOOOOO happy that we got to see them! I thought we weren’t going to see them because the Leifheits were very busy! Hannah wasn’t there, though. She had to work :-( But I got to meet Mr. and Mrs. Leifheit! They were funny! After lunch, Billy, Jessica, Stevie and I went on the trampoline. Stevie and I were the only ones that could do flips. Well, Stevie was better. He can land on his feet after the flip. I can’t. I have had less experience. He also can do a backwards flip. I can’t. Stevie is VERY good at jumping up high, too! We had a pole up to the height of my head and he jumped over it! How cool is that?

We went inside after awhile because we were getting cold. The older kids, Abbey, Johnny, Shannon, Kristyn, Miranda, Brandon and Jessi were playing Apples to Apples in Jessica’s room. So Billy, Jessica, Stevie and I sat on Jessica’s bed and we talked and did some fun stuff like the Seven Seas (a tickling game). The Leifheits had to leave after that. :-( After they left, we played Imaginiff.

Mom and Dad came just as we were finishing the game up. We talked and talked for a long time. I sort of figured out how to blow a shofar, a horn made from a ram’s horn. We left soon afterwards. We got home around 8:30PM. On our way home, we got a flat tire and had to change it at a gas station. I also texted Hannah all the way home. :-)

My Heart Has Been Changed By God

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 12:53 pm on Thursday, November 13, 2008

Awhile ago I was rude to my family. I thought rudely of others and stuff like that, but God has changed my heart. I think of nice things. I have been learning to apologize to my family. Shannon has been encouraging me to read the Bible and other sorts of things, like praying more often.

I’m reading the Old and New Testament in the Bible a certain way. Shannon thought of it. You start with two bookmarks, one that says Old Testament and the another that says New Testament. You put the Old Testament bookmark at Genesis 1:1 and the New Testament one at Mathew 1:1. Every day you read a chapter in the New and Old Testament starting from the beginning of each Testament.

Yesterday math was easy (for once)! I learned how to do Cartesian coordinates. They are fun and easy! Today I learned about something related to it, but it was a little harder.

Loading Up The Shed

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 2:04 pm on Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Yesterday we still did schoolwork, even though it was Veterans Day. After school, Sierra and Ellayna came over to help us move stuff into the shed. First we carried all the big door signs into the shed. Secondly, we got the small campaign signs, wrapped them in plastic wrap, and stored them in the shed, too. After that we wrapped up the metal stakes and put those in the shed. Then we collected some other signs, put those signs’ metal stakes in the car, and the signs in the trash.

We stopped after that and washed our hands. After we washed our hands, Tifani, Shannon, Billy and Richard arrived. They came to help, but I don’t think that there was much work left. We all had hot chocolate. Tifani, Shannon, Richard and Billy played Hearts while Ellayna, Sierra and I played on my iPhone. After that we had a snack. After the snack, Sierra and Ellayna had to leave. :-( Soon after Sierra and Ellayna left, Tifani and Richard left.

A Brand New HUGE Shed!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 1:03 pm on Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Yesterday we got a new shed. It is wooden, except for the roof, which is metal. It is very BIG!

This is the outside of the shed. Isn’t it big?

These are the heavy duty doors.

This is the inside of the big shed. In the corner, there are some of Dad’s campaign signs.

This Friday we are going to visit Kristyn from SP. We may also see Johnny, Stevie and Hannah! I’m sooo excited!!!

End of Soccer Season

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 11:10 am on Monday, November 10, 2008

Last Wednesday Billy, Mom and I went to our soccer banquet. It was pretty fun. I hung out with Taylor, Kelsey and Cassandra. In the gym we all gave applause to our coaches and went to our rooms to get our awards. The girls were in the cafeteria. We each got a speech, pictures and a certificate. Some people got special awards. The captains got medals, and the other players got trophies for stuff like the Most Improved Player or the Coaches Award. I didn’t get a special trophy.

Dad was running for State Representative this year. So, Dad had a SP (Student Project) from Tuesday to Tuesday, Election day. We had a whole bunch of homeschoolers come for 8 days to help out on Dad’s campaign. I didn’t know some of the people that came at first. Kristyn, Johnny, Sheldon and Stevie were the ones that I didn’t know. Winslow, Tucker, Rebecca, Anna, Naomi, Micah, and Adam I did know beforehand. Towards the end of the week I got to know Stevie, Johnny, Kristyn and Sheldon very well. Ellayna came to help after school every day of the week. Sam B. came some of the days. At the end of the day, almost everybody went to play ultimate frisbee. Also, every night, except for the last two nights, Sam got hurt.

Dad lost the election. He won in Greene by 300 votes, but then when the Sabattus votes came in Stacy Dostie’s votes almost doubled Dad’s.

I had fun anyway! I got to know some very nice Christian homeschoolers! They are now my email pals! :-D I can’t wait to see them again! There are so many inside jokes!
