On August 9th Billy and I left to go to Deerwander! It was SO SO SO SO SO FUN! Pastor Tracey preached to us at night. He is totally awesome! The theme for Deerwander was Indiana Jones, so Pastor Tracey preached on ‘Indiana <a href=”http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=jonah”>Jonah</a> and The Lost Souls of Nineveh’. I could have never thought of something like that! He also had paintings of Jonah. They weren’t paintings of the real Jonah, but Pastor Tracey painted them. He painted other ones, too, like the boat Jonah went on to go to Tarshish, a picture of the Ninevites, and stuff like that, which is in the book of Jonah. Pastor Tracey also had a painting of Jonah in the belly of the whale. It was the best painting! It was all black, except for two little eyes which were Jonah’s. It was Pastor Tracey’s favorite, so he signed it!

I became really good friends with a girl I never met before, whose name was Nora. Everyone else in my cabin I already knew from past years. I made some friends among the 6th and 7th grade girls, too. The 6th and 7th grade girls counselors I became good friends with, too. Their names were Kerry and Colleen! So, I met another Colleen! We both have blond hair and blue eyes! She totally rocked! Kerry was totally awesome too! My counselors were Sarah and Natalie. I had them last year. They ROCK! I became either better or new friends with everyone in the whole camp.

The inside joke for Deerwander was ‘Excellent!’. If you have ever seen <a href=”http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105793/”>Wayne’s World</a> you would understand it a little better. Colleen was Garth and Frankie was Wayne. They both were in charge of the games. But when we played the games, they pretended to be Wayne and Garth. They used the word ‘excellent’ a lot!

On the way back from Deerwander, Billy and I rode back with Pastor Tracey, Josh (his son) and Sean (Josh’s friend who also goes to Deerwander). It was fun, even though I was the only girl.

After Deerwander, Billy, Rebecca and Tucker and I went to the balloon festival. It was super fun! We saw a rainbow, so Dad took a picture of all four of us in front of the rainbow. Here is a picture of it:

Dad is renting an office at a little building in almost the center of Greene. It was white with pink outlining, so Dad had us paint the pink over with dark blue. It looks so much better! We aren’t quite done. We have to do touch ups and stuff. Tucker, Rebecca and Ashleigh all helped Billy and I paint. Afterwards we dropped off Ashleigh at her house.

Billy and I went and slept over at Rebecca and Tucker’s house because around 6:30 the next morning we were going to go hiking with a big group of Christians. We hiked Table Rock! It was fun!

Abbey and Shannon had Deerwander the week after our Deerwander, so they came back the day we went hiking.

That is pretty much all the exciting things that happened this summer so far. We’re going camping Labor day weekend!
