My Wonderful Life

Home Alone

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 10:16 am on Thursday, May 22, 2008

Yesterday Doug and I were home alone for about two hours. Mom was working and Shannon went to her softball game. Her team won! 16-10! Dad drove Abbey to her work at the Lewiston Public Library and Billy to his baseball game and he was the responsible adult at the game. That left me home alone. But of course, Doug was here to protect me! :-) I listened to music. I helped Tim using Goto meeting with something he was going to do at our house but he didn’t come to our house because Bible study was canceled. I read about the first 6 chapters of Genesis. I made myself a sandwich for supper. I checked my email too. About 8pm or so everybody started to get back home. :-)

I’m Free! I’m Free! No More Thinking!

Today I just finished my Achievement Test in math! Yay! That means no more math! Well, I got about four problems wrong I’ll probably discuss with Mom tomorrow. Mom also might want me to read a couple pages about what I’m going to learn next year. I’m SOOOOOO happy!!!! Math is my least favorite subject and I think it has the most thinking. :-)

Bible study was canceled last night because Mike Fettes didn’t feel very good. :-(

Another Beautiful day

This morning was chilly but then it got really hot! Today we are going to plant the flowers in the pots. Well, some need to start indoors and some don’t.

Today we had play practice. Margaret was very nice and took Abbey, Billy and I home. Thank you, Margaret!!!

When we got home Billy and I started to plant the flowers in some pots. Some of the flowers need to start inside instead of outside. Billy is going to grow Cacti! Here is a list of what we’re going to grow.

1. Giant pumpkins! (Billy)
2. Green Pepper (Mom)
3. Hot Pepper (Billy)
4. Pansy (Me)
5. Delphinium (Me! It’s a purple and white flower. Very pretty!)
6. Cactus (Guess! Billy.)
7. Tomato (Mom)
6. Peas (Mom)
7. String Beans (Mom)
8. Viola (Me! A yellow and purple flower)
9. Sunflower (Billy, because it gets from 7 to 12 feet high!)
10. Lettuce (Mom)
11. Lettuce (Mom. Mom got two different kinds of lettuce)
12. Mesclun ( Mom)
13. Carrots (Mom)
14. Cucumbers (Mom)
15. Summer squash (Mom)
16. Watermelon (Mom)

We are all going to go probably help out on each others plants.

Poor Tucker and Billy

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 10:04 am on Thursday, May 22, 2008

On Saturday we went to the Richards’ house to help prepare the stage and stuff for the play. Our stage is going to be bigger than I thought it was going to be! Yay! Pastor Sam took a few girls to the church to get the lights and stuff from last year. While he was gone everyone else cleaned up the garage.

One of the things we did was getting big pieces of wood down from a high place in the garage. Tucker climbed up and passed us (the cast) most of the wood. Once he was passing a thin piece of metal to me and it was shorter then most of the pieces and I didn’t know it was short so I stuck my arms out and Tucker sort of tossed it and it hit me in the face. It hurt for awhile and I didn’t even know it but I had a cut that was bleeding! Shannon told me and so I went to go clean it. When I told Tucker he said “Oh! I’m so sorry! Are you okay?” (something like that) I felt fine. Just a little sting. :-)

Some of the younger kids played baseball. Camden, Billy, Elijah, Tucker, Tim (I don’t know who Tim is, he is not my brother) and I played baseball. I pitched for one team and Tucker pitched for the other team. While I was pitching, I pitched to Tucker and he hit a ground ball. I got it and got I Tucker out, just before he got to second base. :-) That made it so my team had to bat and his team had to go out and field.

When Tucker pitched his second pitch (I think) the batter, Tim ducked away from his pitch and the ball bounced on some rocks then hit Billy in the mouth! At first I thought he was okay and would get over it in a few minutes. But Billy didn’t smile or anything. Then we saw lots of blood come out of his mouth! Tucker and I ran to get help. I went to go get Mom. When Mom and I got back Billy was crying. (Billy barely ever cries! The last time I remember when I saw him cry was when Sire died.) Mom told me to get some ice. I went and asked Mrs. Richards for some ice. Tucker got an ice pack for Billy. When we got outside we gave him the ice and Mrs. Richards gave Mom two pills for the pain to give to Billy. Mom, Billy and I drove to the church after that and picked up Abbey and Shannon. Tucker kept saying “I’m so sorry, Billy!” and stuff like that. Poor Tucker, he felt really bad.

When we were in the car Billy kept crying. But once we got home we talked about going to the doctors or not. We decided to call Mrs. Crawford (she is a dental hygienist) and ask what to do. She said to call the dentist on Monday. We did agree to what she said. Then we watched a Star Trek Enterprise episode. Billy felt much better. Instead of a nine (10 worst pain ever and 1 best ever felt) he was a six. He kept the ice on his face the rest of the day.

Starting a Garden

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 10:02 am on Thursday, May 22, 2008

Mom, Billy and I are starting a garden this year! I want to grow flowers by the puddle and then we are going to plant some flowers but mostly vegetables and fruit by the well and our backyard. About two years ago David and Christopher gave me some seeds for my birthday. They gave me watermelon, summer squash and peas. We’ll plant those and we’ll buy some lettuce and stuff. I’m excited! I love to see God’s wonderful creation! Can you imagine how big the watermelons are going to get? Whoa! Watermelons can get REALLY big! I have a big but small list of flowers I want to grow. :-) But I don’t want too many. Can you help me pick which ones to grow? Here’s the list

1. Blue Bonnet (I really like this one but I’m not sure where to buy the seeds, please tell me if you do know)
2. Calla Lily (this is really pretty! I love this flower!)
3. Carnations (I like purple flowers)
4. Iris
5. Morning Glory
6. Pansy
7. Poppy
8. Lilac

I love flowers! Don’t you?

My Second Official Softball Practice

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 9:59 am on Monday, May 19, 2008

Yesterday we had play practice. We started acting on stage. We did my scene! I got a little nervous though. :-(

Last night I had softball practice. Billy and I walked to our field. We got there half an hour before practice. We played pass for about fifteen minutes, and then we took a break and waited for Dad to come to the field. When Dad got there, we set everything up and then people starting arriving. We practiced until around 7:30pm. Then Ashleigh, Shannon, Billy and I played for a bit. After awhile we left.

My 1st Softball Practice of the Season

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 11:57 am on Wednesday, May 7, 2008

Last night we had our first softball practice of the season! There were a lot of girls there!!! Dad said “There weren’t all 28 girls here”! Soon we’ll find out who is going onto the Eagles team and the Gators team. I hope Ashleigh is on the same team that I am, and I hope Jaimie is on my team too.

On Wednesday I started to rake all the leaves out of our puddle. It’s actually like a seasonal pond that is very small. There are still some leaves inside the little pond. I need to rake the little pond, too. But it looks a lot better than when I started! After I’m done cleaning it, I want to use all the rocks (I picked out all the ones I could find around the pond) and paint them white and then put them around the puddle. Once that is done I want to plant flowers around the rocks on the inside towards the puddle.

Doctor’s Appointment

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 11:55 am on Tuesday, May 6, 2008

Today I had a doctor’s appointment. The doctor said that Mom has very healthy kids! I’ve never passed out, broken a bone, been knocked unconscious or any sort of thing like that. I also got a tetanus shot. It hurt for a bit, but then it didn’t hurt unless I stretched my arm out.

Tonight I have my first softball practice. Dad said there were 28 girls that signed up.

April Vacation!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 12:06 pm on Thursday, May 1, 2008

I got back from my trip two Thursdays ago! We got that Friday off from school and then we had April vacation! Woot! Woot!

Rachel slept over at our house Sunday night! Billy went to Zac’s house to go to their friend Max’s birthday party. Rachel, Shannon and I went to visit Gary’s! It was so cool! Rachel also taught us how to make a really cool bracelet. I really like it! The next day we went to Gary’s again and helped clean the barn. When we went back we had lunch and Shannon left for her softball game. We soon left to bring Rachel back to her house and pick Billy up. We first picked up Shannon from softball. It was Gus’s third birthday so we got to wish him a happy birthday, and then we talked a bit, and then we left. When we got home we ate supper and went to Billy’s baseball.

I don’t remember much else, but on Saturday we went to Billy’s baseball practice with Richard for 3 hours! It wasn’t very fun. Being off from school was, though!

Green Water Gushing Through Tubes!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator at 11:52 am on Thursday, May 1, 2008

Today Billy and Abbey have doctor appointments and Shannon is going to buy black underarmor for softball and Mom is the lovely taxi. So Dad, Doug and I are going to be home alone for a little while.

Yesterday our streams almost went over the roads. When the stream closest to our house gets high, it turns green on one side! It also has a little whirlpool, because water is gushing through the tubes to the other side. It looks like rapids!

If you got sucked under, you would freeze and probably die because the water would pull you into the tube and you wouldn’t get a chance to breathe. And when you come out, rocks will be waiting for you to finish you off! See what I mean? It is VERY dangerous to just walk across the stream, when it is overflowing! The stream gets VERY wide too!. :-)

Last year when it rained like this I could see the water from our house! We also had to miss church because the streams were flooded over and it is very dangerous to drive across the water! Our house is closed in by streams, so either way we couldn’t have had made it to church.
